Stardew Valley Update 1.5.6: Everything We Know So Far
Stardew Valley’s future was uncertain following Eric “ConcernedApe”, Barone’s October announcement for Haunted Chocolatier. A small update with Version 1.5.5 was just released after our September announcement that there wouldn’t be an update.
This mostly addresses bug fixes and support for modders. You can find the full patch notes right here. He also mentions that Version 1.5.6 is in the works. We don’t have a release date at the moment.

Stardew Valley’s latest update gives insight into future plans
ConcernedApe says that new content may appear in the next update. However, he warns that it won’t be very large. He advised that:
An update to 1.5.6 is currently in progress. We are currently working with PathosChild, the creator of SMAPI (a popular Stardew modding tool), to provide more modding support for the game. This includes some long requested “holy gril” changes that should make modding a lot easier in the future. To help us achieve this goal, we have granted PathosChild access to the source code.
Although there may be some new content in 1.5.6 it is not as significant as 1.5.
Stardew Valley is not expecting any major changes for its next patch. However, it’s great to see that he still supports it. We know that there are more changes coming and will keep you updated as we find out more.
