Overwatch’s Halloween Terror event took place recently. This year, there were a variety of new modes and content for Overwatch, including skins and costumes for Echo and Brigitte.
A holiday-themed event is coming up for hero shooters, with Christmas just around the corner. Overwatch players have enjoyed the Winter Wonderland in past years. This event brings new gear, season-themed maps and skins.

November 23rd 2021 –
An Overwatch fan shared the amazing Wrecking Ball Christmas Skin Concept. It’s well worth a look (link above). Let us give you a hint, Santa’s sleigh. We’ll likely have to wait until the next event to see the new skins. This will be around the 3-4 days before the event starts. We’d love to hear your ideas for other skin designs from Winter Wonderland 2021.
October 12th 2021 –
Overwatch’s Christmas event was teased in the Halloween Terror 2021 trailer. At 1:17, Reinhart, Winston and Wrecking ball can be seen in a snowy environment.
Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2021 Release Date
Winter Wonderland 2020 ran from December 15th through January 5th. 2019 ran from December 10th through January 2nd. These past events show that the start date was never before December 10th, and the end date never went beyond January 5th.
Winter Wonderland 2021 could be held between December 10th and January 5th if we believe that the event will last as long as possible. This is speculation, and it should be confirmed soon.
What is Winter Wonderland?
Overwatch’s annual Christmas event is Winter Wonderland. The festivities feature a variety of new skins and modes, seasonal changes in maps, festive loot boxes and many other goodies.
The event lasts almost four weeks and allows players to enjoy snowball fights, ice-based elimination matches, and showing off their new emotes.
Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2021 Modes
While the modes for this year are still to be confirmed, Winter Wonderland 2020 brought back fan-favourite snowball matches. This mode is a fan favourite so that Blizzard may bring it back.
Last year’s Yeti Hunter featured players hunting down a Yeti powered through Winston’s abilities. Also, there was a 6v6 brawl at Mei’s Snowball Offensive. These modes could be available to players in the 2021 season.
Each Winter Wonderland usually introduces a holiday-themed original mode, so we are looking forward to seeing what Blizzard Entertainment has in store.
Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2021 Skins
Every Winter Wonderland includes Christmas-themed skins. Players were given dozens of skins last year. Some of these could be earned through weekly challenges, such as Gingerbread Ana, Frosty Roadhog and Elf Junkrat.
