I’m ready for Arataki Itto. The Hunky Oni Dude Genshin Influen Players went wild over
It’s official: Arataki Itto, a new five-star character from Genshin Impact who drove nearly everyone to tweet about it, will arrive in Teyvat in version 2.3, Schatten Amidst Schneestorms. I am a huge fan of this character, but I have not met him or had any connection with him.
MiHoYo announced new additions to Genshin Impact on their regular update livestream. You can see the patch’s contents: holiday-themed challenges for Dragonspine and a boss fight against the Golden Wolflord. There’s also a banner rerun. All of this is secondary to Arataki Itto’s official launch window. This character was so controversial that the playerbase shamed several of the game’s most prominent figures and doubled the hype around their tweet announcements. We haven’t seen Itto in the game yet. And when miHoYo announced him, there wasn’t much information about him. The internet had only a photo, lots of time and a thirst for oni men in open jackets but no shirt.
Itto is Genshin Impact’s most wanted person. He’s wanted because he’s a gangleader and wanted because he has his own subreddit ‘Itto Mains’ that you can’t browse at work. It’s quite a lot. There were many players who responded to his reveal on the Genshin Impair Twitter, with weeks of replies including “Daddy” and photos of his abs. Itto’s version 2.3 trailer by miHoYo gives you a more detailed look so that you can see who the Genshin people are thirst-posting about.
Max Mittelman, actor behind Arataki Itto’s English performance, joined the stream during the new five star character’s portion and took a closer look at his kit. The new footage showed that the oni can generate superlative strength in battle and can use those stacks for more power to his charge attack. He can sprint around and dodge enemies without interrupting his attacks, which is great for someone like me who cannot stop moving.
It’s all a bit absurd, but it’s something I love. Zhongli was the same last year. He’s now a regular fixture in my party. Itto is also a Geo user. Itto felt cheated throughout the first game and was generally regarded as unfavorable. Geo now has Zhongli and Ningguang representing it. Although your team might make more sense and be more functional, it may not look as good as mine. Sorry.
I have planned my resources and kept my Primogems from miHoYo’s revelation of Itto. I am now ready to add another Claymore-wielding character in my party. You may be familiar with Genshin Impact’s story. There are already some beats that suggest we might see more about the horrors of Vision Hunt Decree, and how Itto went on from there. I am still interested in his story, even if he doesn’t get the banner.
Itto will not be available when patch 2.3 is released on November 24. He’ll instead join Genshin Impact to be the second banner during the patch cycle. This usually happens a few weeks after it goes live. Gorou, a new four-star character will launch with Itto’s banner, as a bow-wielding Geo player.
