Steam Deck Delayed until February 2022
Valve announced that the Steam Deck, its next portable gaming PC will not launch on its original December launch date. Instead, it will launch in February 2022.
The news first broke via emails to pre-ordered devices. Next, a statement by Valve on Steam’s website explained that the decision was due to material shortages.
Valve has decided to delay the launch of the Steam Deck because the components required for the project have not been arriving in time. Your place in the pre-orders is not being moved forward by two months.
If you are part of the first wave, your order will still be processed in February. The next waves will follow in March. Valve states that they will provide more details “shortly” after the announcement. Keep an eye on your email inboxes.
