These are better than CoD: Vanguard — Best First Person Gunner Games
Call of Duty reminds of Sean from Jimmy Neutron. You have a singular vision of what you want to show the class and are not afraid to offer anything new.
Call of Duty Vanguard is more of the same. This reinforces the fact that Infinite Warfare’s futurist campaign wasn’t a good idea and Treyarch’s complete mishandling of the Black Ops storyline after 2 making the next few games seem like rushed rush jobs with little impact. Kevin Spacey’s presence is ruining Sledgehammer’s best campaign.
Vanguard is so unlikely to be a success for Activision that they have SEO’d it. They’ve placed “Best WW2 Game” at end of headline to make sure it appears in multiple Google searches when you search for something to play.
In light of the controversy surrounding Activision’s recent game, and the general advice to not play Activision games until the company fixes everything, let us recommend some games that you can now play instead of Call of Duty Vanguard.
Half-Life 2 + Episodes 1, 2 and 3
Half-Life 2, released in 2004, remains a masterpiece. It’s a must-see if you haven’t already. It will be available in the Steam sales, as it always has been.
After being placed in stasis following the first game’s catastrophe, Gordon Freeman wakes up to find a new world. He must join the resistance to get it back.
You’ll be fighting in three different games, amongst cities, forests, and abandoned zombie-infested towns around the globe. Episode 1 is the weakest, and Episode 2 likes its vehicle sections, but Man will never forget running at breakneck speed across City-17 and the White Forest.
Aside from that, I want people to feel the pain of being given the worst cliffhanger in videogames.

EA’s 2012 reboot of the strategy game was not well received, but it did open the door to many of the modern changes that we see in shooters today. Starbreeze’s cyberpunk game is a heavy-feeling, hard-hitting shooter that features excellent set pieces throughout. Cyberpunk 2077 is a far better cyberpunk game. It features hacking and capitalistic acts.
Miles Kilo is the name of the main character. It is amazing.
DOOM 2016
DOOM is the only video game worthy of being in all capitals. DOOM 2016 is a perfect soft reboot. It’s a vicious meatgrinder with perfectly structured demon slaughter. It is truly one of my favorite games and has not been surpassed by any other game since, even its sequel.
Painkiller HD
You want Zombies’ fast-paced action, but you don’t want to be playing with others, then Painkiller: Hell and Damnation HD is the best choice. This absolute replacement is perfect for it. Painkiller has a great sense of chaos and structure, making it my favorite choice for de-stressing. You don’t have to worry about anyone else, despite the constant bloodbath and hoarding that CoD:Zombies has. There are only you and your complicated arsenal of guns, as well as the many shambling hell demons that come your way.
Prey 2006
Prey 2006 is a strange one to recommend. Why wouldn’t Prey 2017 be recommended? They’re totally different. The original idea of a first person shooter in the traditional was abandoned in favor of an immersive sim. It is also very difficult to obtain legally. However, because of the limbo Bethesda has left it in, it is quite easily available on Abandonware websites.
