Overview
The Witness is a 3D puzzle video game published and developed by Thekla, Inc. The participant, as an unnamed character, investigates an island with many structures and organic formations. The island is approximately broken into eleven areas, arranged around a hill which represents the greatest goal for the participant. The areas are distinguished from one another by changes in vegetation, as well as the mysteries within each area are very similar to one another (e.g. their answers may all require symmetry). Through the island are yellowish boxes home turrets. These could be triggered once the mysteries within the box area have already been solved. When triggered, the turrets appear to glow a light toward the surface of the mountain, suggesting a section of this match is complete. Several such turrets have to get triggered to unlock access into the interior of the mountain and finally get to the game’s ultimate aim. Added puzzles are available in most of the eleven turrets are triggered.
