Guy Beahm, that flows on Twitch since the popular personality”Dr Disrespect,” has broken his silence on the contentious live flow incident during the E3 expo in Los Angeles early last month that resulted in a multi-week ban from the platform. Breaking personality in fashion, a note was submitted by Beahm for his dominating Twitter account in the shape of a Twitlonger article, the tweet from the accounts because November 2017. From the post, Beahm apologizes for his actions and offers some insight.
“When we were walking around filming E3, we obviously weren’t thinking about the laws/repercussions of filming in the bathroom because frankly, it was not in our thoughts frame at the time. We were kind of’all in’ with all the Doc livestream experience and catching the E3 event throughout the character,” Beahm writes. “We were so into the E3 IRL travel we became a small blind in what’s ok and what’s not ok. We had no ill intentions and that I feel if you saw the entire thing that has been fairly obvious. We wanted to catch an experience we chose that adventure into the areas unaware of the legalities surrounding it. On behalf of this Dr Disrespect brand, I apologize for this.
Twitch has already reactivated Dr Disrespect’s accounts after what seems to have been a seven-year ban, also Beahm is expected to return to full-time streaming soon. But until today, he has not commented on the circumstance, choosing to post promotional videos into the Dr Disrespect Twitter account hinting at the character return on July 8th.
The Twitch community has been debating what Twitch’s relatively light punishment means for the streamer community, in addition to if the company takes an active enough role in moderating the behaviour of founders who both play video games reside and, in the case of both Beahm’s E3 incident, deliver their channels into the real world in what are known in the area as”IRL” streams.
Beahm has been absent in those conversations, but the general consensus even among ardent pro-streaming members of this community is that Twitch dangers abetting behavior like this by not handing down lengthier bans, commenting small or not at all on its own decision making, and by letting popular streamers benefit financially by staging big comebacks after contentious bans. Since his account had been reactivated, Beahm has obtained a enormous influx of contributions and gifted subscriptions. It follows a similar pattern to Beahm’s previous Dr Disrespect break in late 2017, when he stopped streaming to take care of a family matter simply to return in February 2018 with record-breaking numbers.

I’d like to talk about the Twitch prohibit of Dr Disrespect from E3.
This was my very first IRL stream as the Doc and when it is not clear by now, one of the things that I try to stay true with is credibility. Real life personas are tough to pull off, especially in today’s society. Doc is edgy, highly opinionated, cocky, etc. and that surely adds to the difficulty in staying authentic without breaking anyone on a deeper, personal level. When we walked about filming E3, we weren’t considering the laws/repercussions because it wasn’t within our mind frame at the moment of filming in the toilet. We were kind of’all in’ and capturing the event through the personality. We were so that we became a small blind in what is not okay and what is ok. We had no ill intentions and I believe if you watched the whole thing, that was pretty obvious. We wanted to catch an adventure, unfortunately we chose that adventure surrounding it. On behalf of this Dr Disrespect brand, I apologize for this.
I have sat back and consumed a lot of comments on the incident and the aftermath. I feel the ones that have followed me for years out of the character before Twitch, know what kind of man I am. I have an incredible support system from family, friends, business partners, community and after. I am really lucky to be considered an influential person in this entertainment space. Believe me, I do not take it. We’re focusing on a great deal of items (that take time) which will hopefully continue to elevate the brand and gambling entertainment as a whole into the main stream space. I’ve a ruthless passion for imagination, for amusing people, making people laugh, growing new tools and technology etc.. We understand, become more powerful, and move forward, although this episode was a step back. I hope you continue to remain on this vision with me, if you abide by the brand or myself.
