Warframe Overhauls New Player Experience With Major Updates Starting May 21
Digital Extremes has announced a major revamp of *Warframe*’s new player experience, aiming to make the game more accessible to newcomers. The overhaul will roll out in phases, starting with the **Yareli Prime update on May 21**, followed by the **Isleweaver update in June 2025**.
The first wave of changes focuses on simplifying key systems. Warframes will now be labeled by role—**Damage, Support, Stealth, Crowd Control,** and **Survival**—making it easier for new players to understand each suit’s purpose. Weapons will also be grouped into intuitive categories across primary, secondary, and melee types, such as **shotgun**, **SMG**, or **light blade**.
Additional improvements include early-game combat tweaks, with mini-boss **Bailiffs** added to Grineer missions and enhanced enemy abilities for more engaging encounters. Meanwhile, **Junction missions** will soon display task lists and reward players for each completed objective, not just the final boss.
The game’s first major boss, **Captain Vor**, is also being reworked to better teach core mechanics without overwhelming players.
This ongoing overhaul reflects Digital Extremes’ commitment to making *Warframe* more beginner-friendly while continuing to evolve the game for longtime fans.
