Destiny 2 Launches Heavy Metal Event With New Vehicles, Rewards, and Features
Bungie has officially launched the Heavy Metal event in *Destiny 2*, kicking off a wave of new content and features for players. Starting May 9, the limited-time Crucible event puts vehicles like Brigs and Drake tanks at the center of the action, offering a fresh PvP experience. Players can earn unique rewards such as the Gryphon Combat Sparrow, the Heavy Metal title, and the Mad Dog emblem.
Alongside the event, Bungie introduced a new feature called **Event Home**, designed to replace the old Event Card system. This new hub provides easy access to event challenges, the reward track, and a new token system. It will also be used for future seasonal events like Solstice and Dawning.
The event also comes after Bungie revealed a major look at Destiny 2’s future. The next big expansion, **The Edge of Fate**, launches on July 15 and focuses on the mysterious group known as The Nine. It marks the first expansion following the conclusion of the Light and Darkness Saga.
Bungie also teased the **Year of Prophecy** roadmap, which includes upcoming content like **Ash & Iron** and **Shadow & Order**, promising a packed year ahead for Destiny 2 fans.
