8BitDo Pauses US Shipments Due to 145% Trump Tariff on Chinese Imports

Popular controller maker 8BitDo has temporarily halted shipments to the US from its China-based warehouses, citing the Trump administration’s 145% tariff on Chinese imports as the reason. The pause affects select products, including the new Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller with TMR stick sensors.

While direct shipments from China are paused, US customers can still order 8BitDo items currently stocked in the company’s US warehouses. The company has not given a timeline for when international shipments will resume.

8BitDo products remain available through third-party retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon. Customers are advised to check availability on these platforms or try adding items to their cart on 8BitDo’s website to confirm US shipping eligibility.

This move follows broader industry impacts from the ongoing tariffs, which also led Microsoft to raise prices on Xbox consoles and accessories. Square Enix similarly paused US and Canadian merchandise pre-orders in April.
