Call of Duty 2025 could be the futuristic Black Ops 2 successor
Call of Duty fans are buzzing after a well-known leaker, Tom Henderson, revealed that 2025’s entry in the series will be “a direct sequel to Black Ops 2”.
Henderson’s source revealed the report to Insider gaming. The series will return in the near future – “around 2030”. The game would begin 5 years after Black Ops 2. This will allow popular characters to come back and create conflict later on in the timeline.
It is expected to be released in 2025. However, the lengthy development process may result in a different setting. In the report, it is stated that “round-based” zombies, a new movement system, gunfights as a mode of play, and “pick ten create a class” are all planned.
critics of Modern Warfare 3 have apparently heard their complaints, because remastered Black Ops 2 map will join several original maps. Infinity Ward has reportedly “well-developed its next Modern Warfare” and is a great source of comfort for fans who have enjoyed the remakes.
The project is also likely to move away from its ‘carry-forward’ system. It allowed players to carry over their progress and cosmetics between games. Modern Warfare has been a hit, but subsequent games may find it hard to add certain weapons since they will jump between different historical periods.
According to leaks, Call of Duty is using the strange codename “Saturn”. This is unlikely, but it’s entirely possible. It could be a return to the outer space with the help of advanced technology of that era.
We can only hope, despite the plans that are being made, the developers of upcoming Call of Duty titles won’t be forced to squeeze through short development time.
