Warzone A Haunting jump scares scares gamers to death
Call of Duty: Warzone’s Halloween event, “The Haunting,” has brought a new wave of jump scares that are leaving some players thrilled, while others are less than impressed. Raven Software has revamped the Battle Royale experience by introducing terrifying surprises that appear when players interact with supply boxes across Al Mazrah and Vondel, including the return of the popular Zombie Royale mode.
However, not everyone is enjoying these spooky surprises. A recent tournament player, Reddit user Spicy-Tato1, shared their experience of encountering an unsettling face after looting a calm area, which caused a sudden jolt of fear. While some players are excited by the jump scares, others find the abrupt ghostly screams disturbing, with one user commenting, “That’s the stupidest f**king thing I’ve ever seen.”
Fans of horror films seem to appreciate the added thrill, but some feel the jump scares are overdone. One player noted, “As a huge horror movie fan, jump scares are fun. But, they way overdid it in this event.”
The most common complaint centers around the volume of the scares, with players like Ok-Candidate-2513 stating, “Makes it [jump scares] not enjoyable… the volume is just stupid.”
The jump scares are set to continue through the event, so if you’re not a fan, be sure to check our guide on how to adjust the sound settings and avoid ear-splitting moments. Alternatively, consider lowering your volume to keep the shocks at a more manageable level.
