PlayStation gamers are calling for the return of exclusive shows
PlayStation enthusiasts believe that it’s time that Insomniac Games revived their Resistance: Fall Of Man series.
Before The Insomniac Games changed the video superhero game by introducing Marvel’s Spider-Man, Insomniac Games played with a variety of other franchises before finally deciding to go after the wall-crawler that everyone loves.
The most well-known examples include Ratchet & Clank, Spyro The Dragon and, this week’s topic, Resistance: Fall Of Man.
The Resistance games were exclusively released for PlayStation consoles. They were first-person shooters set within the alternate scenario during World War 2, where instead of the world’s strongest nations fighting one another, the players fought an alien race instead.
The Chimera species is a species of fungi that, according to Chimera, enslaves the world and transforms regular humans into their very personal supersoldiers. The task of protagonist Sergeant Nathan Hale is to lead a small group of resistance to drive Chimera out into the UK.
Although it’s not the most well-known Insomniac IP, fans still love it, a large portion of whom would like the show to continue at some point or another.
Reddit user the_light_of_dawn has expressed they would like to see the Resistance series relaunched for the modern age, writing: “Just replayed this for the first time after 15 years. I would love a soft revival or something similar to this series.”
Others agreed with the hope that Insomniac Games can resurrect the series on modern platforms, whether through a reboot or remake of the games with better graphics and gameplay.
“First PS3 game I played. God, this seems to be too long back. However, in reality, it’s taken almost 20 years.”
“I told you this just a couple of days ago, but if they remake the series to fit the next-generation consoles, I’d be buying the game so quickly that my bank account would suffer whiplash.”
“Man, Insomniac has always been excellent.”
The next game in Insomniac’s schedule includes Marvel’s The Wolverine, which is said to have entered fully-fledged development, according to one of the creators. At present, however, most Insomniac gamers will likely be eagerly awaiting the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The brand new Spider-Man game will be available only for PlayStation 5 on 20 October.
