GTA fans are grateful to Vice City for its excellent soundtrack, which introduced them to the 80s
GTA Fans can thank Vice City’s great soundtrack for getting them into 80s music.
In 2002, when Grand Theft Auto Vice City first appeared on the PlayStation 2, it was quickly hailed as not only one of the greatest games ever made but also the most popular game of all times. If someone said that GTA: Vice City was the best in the series, I would not argue. Rockstar Games had a classic in its hands.
Vice City was inspired by the city of Miami. The city of Miami was reminiscent of Vice City, with its neon lights, sandy beach, stunning sunsets and vibrant people. The film also showed a satirical underworld of criminals and their dodgy deals. It depicted gangs who would kill their rivals without hesitation, as well as drug dealers, loan sharks, and an increasing level of corruption.
I could talk about Vice City for hours. The soundtrack was another element which played an important role in making this game so popular. In the past, I spent more time listening to the radio in-game than playing the actual game.
The 1980s are the golden age for some and the radio station has introduced their listeners to an array of bangers. We’re not referring to InterGlobal Studios, which is located on Prawn island.
I can think of a number of tracks that come to mind, including “Video Killed the Radio Star”, “The Message” by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five “Atomic”, “I Ran”, “A Flock of Seagulls “, Mr. Mister’s “Broken Wings”, and many more.
