The Runtime of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Confirms It’s One Of Marvel’s Shortest Movies
Thor, Love, and Thunder will be available on cinema screens in three weeks (in the UK, this is – US viewers will need to wait an additional day). Excited? Are you excited? It’s been nearly five years since Thor was released, and it’s safe for me to say that many fans are eager for more Chris Hemsworth action on screen. I understand that it’s not just you.
Apart from a possible Hemsworth-Pratt romance, the film will introduce a new antagonist to MCU. Gorr, the God Butcher, is just as frightening as he sounds. Game Rant reported that the movie would be able to whip through all of this action in record speed.
Love and Thunder turn out to be one of our favorite Marvel movies. Taika Waititi’s latest movie is just 119 minutes long, one minute less than Ragnarok. This means that Love and Thunder, Marvel’s latest movie, is the shortest, under two hours, since Ant-Man and The Wasp in 2018.
Marvel’s official synopsis explains what will be happening during that time. His retirement is interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), a galactic killer who seeks to exterminate the gods.” (via ComicBook). Thor recruits the assistance of Tessa Thompson, Korg (Taika Waititi), and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) to combat the threat. They embark on a terrifying cosmic adventure together to discover the truth about the God Butcher and stop him before he’s too late.
A shorter movie doesn’t necessarily mean the movie is better. I am happy that I can enjoy a large Tango Ice Blast without needing to sprint out at the end. Perhaps that’s just me.
