A New Mod has Already Made Sims 4 Pronouns Feature in Conversations.
Electronic Arts just released an update to Sims 4, allowing players to choose and customize pronouns for their Sims. The community highly sought this feature, and one modder was so excited about it that they quickly implemented it. Luminous, a modder of the official update, modified the feature to allow Sims to ask each other their pronouns within the game.
EA’s new official pronouns update allows players to assign Sims as he/her/him, she/her or they/them. You can also create a Sim mode that lets you customize your Sims. After your Sim has been completed, their unique pronouns will be displayed in the menus, notifications and throughout the game. This update does not include new dialogue options when Sims talk to each other. Modder Lumpinou also added them, and you can download the patch notes.
This mod incorporates the official update into social situations. So when you are conversing with another Sim, you will find ‘Tell Pronouns’ and ‘Ask About Pronouns’ under the Friendly category in dialogue. The Sim’s pronouns are now displayed under their profile and in the relationship panel.
This is a minor but important change. Sims has always been about imitating real life and shaping it to your liking. This gameplay mode allows your Sims to use these pronouns to navigate their world. Instead of you, the player, only seeing the selected pronouns on menu screens and notifications, this mod makes it possible for them to use the pronouns properly.
The mod can be used in two ways. One allows you to fully control your Sims, while the other will enable you to do everything yourself. The mod enables sims to ask each other their pronouns. The interaction between the sims and their pronouns is entirely up to them.
Luminous offers a lot of cool mods. These include romance, pregnancy and skill overhauls. (such as giving Sims weaknesses and talents so they can learn faster or slower) All of these can be found on their website. The team is also working on a very in-depth LGBTQ mod. This mod introduces sexual, romantic and gender identities that impact gameplay situations. Sims can, for instance, refuse to have sexual or romantic encounters depending on their individuality. Lumpini states that the mod will be released in time for Pride Month, June. The pronoun mod will also be included.
