Rainbow Six Extract: Spillover goes live today
Rainbow Six Extraction launched last month with a promising launch. We reached three million players within its first week. This was a positive launch. Ubisoft’s work is far from over.
According to the artistic director, Extraction has announced that it is planning ” generous post-launch support” – at most. Now, we have our first Crisis Event, spillover. Crisis Events are short-term events that last three weeks and introduce new operators, gadgets, cosmetics, etc.
Weekly assignments will not be available during these events. These events can only be played in three-player teams. Today’s launch is a free event. It will be open until February 11, 2022. Gfinity was able to preview what Spillover has in store.
What is Spillover?
Spillover involves us tackling Sprawl Colonies in different hot zones. These can’t normally be damaged and require a Dissolution agent to activate them. Our goal is to wipe out these alien colonies.
Once you have your location selected, you must prepare barricades and other defences. Then, when you are ready, you can plant the Dissolution Agent in a colony. There is no standard order for decontaminating nests. You can choose your own path.
Spillover can be completed by completing nine waves in 25 minutes. The rewards are divided into three steps. Players can withdraw early for cash or XP, but not all bonuses. These are the steps I have outlined below.
- First– Decontaminate two colonies
- Second – Decontaminate five colonies.
- Step 3 – Clear nine colonies
However, it is worth noting that enemies can have additional traits depending on the colony they are attacking. Three colonies have cloaked Archaeans to make them invisible, three others have Archaeans carrying the spores, and three more contain elite Archaeans.
REACT Tech – New
Auto-Turret is the latest REACT tech. This deployable turret targets Archaeans when they arrive. Ubisoft confirmed this tech is available to those who log in during the event. However, Auto Turret can only be unlocked during Spillover.
