December 22nd Ban Wave Eliminates 48,000 Call of Duty Cheaters
Despite numerous bugs and glitches that affected Season 1 in Warzone Pacific, RICOCHET’s anti-cheat was welcomed by the community. Although the Vanguard-level driver is yet to be launched, cheaters that could impact the battle royale have significantly been reduced. This is a significant step forward.
Activision, Raven Software, and other anti-cheat organizations are still issuing ban waves to stop unfair advantages gained during a match. December 22nd saw the latest ban wave, which saw 48,000 accounts fall under the ban hammer in Vanguard and Warzone.
Multiple sources reported that the ban was in effect. A Tweet from Call of Duty confirmed this. RICOCHET has been focusing all its efforts on tackling the continuing problem of cheaters in Call of Duty.
Many were quick to applaud that hackers won’t have access to RICOCHET again. However, others suggested that they might have been wrongly banned. One user said that anti-cheat was not working in their lobby and that there are still “a lot” of cheaters ruining the experience.
Warzone Total Ban Count
About 700,000 cheaters were permanently banned from the battle royale due to ban waves and RICOCHET. This number will likely rise as more players are banned from creating new accounts with hacks. RICOCHET has issued hardware bans to stop this from happening so that Vanguard and Warzone remain relatively free from cheats.
