Flying Unlock Revealed for Zereth Mortis in Shadowlands Patch 9.2 Eternity’s End
We continue to test the Eternity’s end PTR. As players try out the new systems and content, we know how flying will work once they reach Zereth Mortis in Shadowlands.
Sometimes flying is not available as part of an expansion patch. However, Blizzard has now added the ability for players to fly in this new zone. It is much larger than most of the other World of Warcraft zones.
Players will need to complete the CyphersAchievement to unlock flying in Zereth Mortis. This involves researching the first talent from each of the four Cyphers within the First One’s system.
Based on current research times, unlocking and 510 Cyphers for the First ones will take at least 15 days. This new currency was added to this system to upgrade it.

Each of the four talents must first be upgraded. They are only available to players who have completed chapter 3 of Eternity’s End Campaign. These are the four upgrades available and how to get them.
- Material Understanding- 5 Cyphers of The First Ones (instantaneous research time).
- Aeolic understanding – 45 Cyphers for the First Ones – 18 hours research time
- Deals Understanding- 200 Cyphers for the First Ones- 6 days, 18 hours research time
- Tribalism Understanding 260 Cyphers for the First Ones – 6 days, 18 hours research time
