Rumor Suggests GTA 4 Port May Release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025

Rumor Suggests GTA 4 Port May Release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025

A new rumor suggests Rockstar Games could be releasing a current-gen port of *Grand Theft Auto 4* later this year. This comes after news that *Grand Theft Auto 6* has been delayed to May 2026, pushing back the highly anticipated sequel by a full year.

According to reliable GTA insider Tez2, the *GTA 4* port has been in development for about a year and might launch in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The insider referred to the release as a “port” rather than a “remaster,” meaning fans should expect improved performance and possibly some light graphical updates, but not a full overhaul.

The rumor gains more credibility following Rockstar’s takedown of the popular *Liberty City Preservation Project* mod for *GTA 5*, which recreated *GTA 4*’s map and features. Insider Tez2 suggests Rockstar may have shut down the fan project to avoid conflict with its own upcoming release.

In addition to *GTA 4*, Tez2 also hinted that Rockstar may be planning a current-gen port of *Max Payne 3*, potentially after *GTA 4*’s release. This could align with Remedy Entertainment’s *Max Payne 1 & 2* remakes, which are currently in full production.

While Rockstar has not confirmed any of these plans, fans may still have a GTA title to look forward to in 2025 after all.
