WoW Patch 11.1.7 Adds New Recuperate Spell for Out-of-Combat Healing
Blizzard is introducing a new universal healing ability called *Recuperate* in **World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.7**, allowing all classes to restore health outside of combat without needing food.
*Recuperate* lets players heal for **150% of their maximum HP over 30 seconds**, making it more effective than traditional food-based recovery. The spell channels while the character sets up a small campfire and eats a snack. It’s available to every class and offers a convenient way to recover between fights.
Currently on the Public Test Realm (PTR), the tooltip appears incorrect, showing only 50% healing over 10 seconds. Blizzard is expected to fix this inconsistency before the patch goes live.
Unlike food, *Recuperate* doesn’t provide stat buffs or restore mana, so classes like Druids, Priests, and Shamans may still rely on drinks or Mage-conjured refreshments for full recovery.
Inspired by similar mechanics in games like *Star Wars: The Old Republic*, *Recuperate* could potentially receive cosmetic variants in the future, similar to Hearthstone-themed toys already in WoW.
Patch 11.1.7 is expected to launch in the coming months.
