Blizzard Considers Hero Bans for Overwatch 2’s Stadium Mode
Blizzard is open to the idea of adding hero bans to *Overwatch 2’s* new Stadium mode, following strong community feedback during a recent Reddit AMA.
Stadium mode, which features a smaller roster of just 17 heroes, has been a hit with fans since its launch. However, players have begun requesting the addition of hero bans to add more strategy to matches. Blizzard’s Test Analyst Daniel Duffin responded by saying that while the feature isn’t feasible right now due to the limited hero pool, it could be revisited in the future as the mode expands.
Senior Systems Designer Connor Kou also acknowledged the feature’s popularity and noted that it could have “interesting implications” for team strategy and the overall meta.
The discussion comes as *Overwatch 2* experiences a boost in player activity thanks to new content, including a Gundam Wing crossover event running from April 29 to May 12. Blizzard also used the AMA to address other player concerns, highlighting their ongoing efforts to refine the mode based on community input.
Rumors continue to swirl about Blizzard’s future projects, including a potential *Overwatch* mobile game developed in partnership with Korean studio Nexon.
