Marvel Rivals Mid-Season 2 Update Teased, Ultron Confirmed as New Character
NetEase has revealed early details about the upcoming mid-season update for *Marvel Rivals* Season 2, which will bring a new round of hero balancing, gameplay tweaks, and performance rating adjustments.
Season 2 launched on April 11, inspired by Marvel’s Hellfire Gala, introducing a Krakoa-themed map, new abilities, and Emma Frost as a playable Vanguard. New skins and customization options also arrived for several heroes, including Doctor Strange, Peni Parker, Winter Soldier, and Psylocke.
In the latest Dev Talk, NetEase outlined planned balance changes. Strategists will receive buffs to improve their offensive potential, while heroes like Groot and Captain America will see reduced survivability. Spider-Man’s Amazing Combo will have its damage range slightly lowered, and Doctor Strange’s ultimate will require less energy.
Team-Up abilities are also being fine-tuned, with a small buff confirmed for Winter Soldier’s Tainted Voltage. NetEase also confirmed Ultron as the next character joining the roster.
The update will include changes to the game’s performance rating system to ensure more balanced evaluations across all roles. Duelists currently have an edge, while some Vanguards and Strategists fall behind. The adjustment aims to offer fairer ratings for all players.
More details on broader balance changes are expected after the mid-season patch goes live.
