Planet Coaster 2 Update 4 Launches April 22 with Restaurants and More
Planet Coaster 2 players have a lot to look forward to on April 22, as Frontier Developments prepares to release Update 4 — a major content drop introducing restaurants, new customisation options, and gameplay improvements.
One of the biggest additions in Update 4 is the long-awaited restaurant feature. Players will be able to choose from themed blueprints or design their own dining spots from scratch, adding more realism and creativity to their parks. Another key feature is pool customization, allowing players to change the water and tile colors for pools.
The update also brings improvements to Workshop support, with two new sections — Featured Creators and Featured Creations — making it easier to discover top community content. Additional highlights include enhancements to Franchise mode, new de-themed coasters, and a variety of scenery pieces to expand creative options.
While the game received a warm critical response with a 77 Top Critic Average on OpenCritic, player reviews were more mixed at launch. However, recent feedback has shifted to “Mostly Positive,” showing that Planet Coaster 2 is gaining traction with continued updates.
Fans can also look forward to Frontier’s next *Frontier Unlocked* livestream on April 30, where future content and potential DLC will be discussed. The last DLC, *Thrill-Seekers Ride Pack*, launched in December, and more expansions are likely on the way.
