Aspyr Releases First Post-Launch Update for *Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles* Re-Release

Aspyr has rolled out the first post-launch patch for the 2025 re-release of *Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles*, focusing entirely on bug fixes and stability improvements. The update aims to address various crashes and gameplay issues that have affected players since launch.

The original 2000 hack-and-slash game wasn’t widely celebrated upon its debut, so news of its modern revival was met with some confusion. Despite the mixed reception of the re-release, Aspyr has shown continued support for the title, releasing a comprehensive patch to improve the gameplay experience across all platforms.

Key fixes include issues with player data loss, soft locks, game crashes, and controller input problems. Several legacy bugs from the original version were also addressed, including mission objective glitches, broken achievements, and audio problems.

Here are some highlights from the patch notes:

– Fixed a crash when reaching Level 6’s Coruscant elevator.
– Resolved an issue where Player 2 could not interact after completing a level.
– Fixed save data being erased after closing the game.
– Corrected multiple controller-related issues, including reconnection soft locks.
– Fixed crashes related to grenades, credits, and specific controller inputs.
– Addressed various level-specific bugs, such as camera issues, character trapping, and boss fights.
– Restored missing visual effects and corrected combo/achievement tracking bugs.

While it’s unclear if future updates are planned, this patch shows Aspyr’s commitment to improving the game post-launch. With a very small player base—just 10 concurrent users on Steam at peak—the developer’s continued effort is a positive sign for fans of the cult classic.

Elsewhere in the *Star Wars* gaming universe, Ubisoft’s *Star Wars Outlaws* is set to release its second DLC in May, and EA recently announced *Star Wars: Zero Company*, a turn-based tactical game coming in 2026.
