Talks for New Deus Ex Game ‘Actively’ Taking Place, Report Says
A new *Deus Ex* game may be in the works, as Eidos Montreal is reportedly pitching the franchise’s revival to potential partners. Despite no mainline entry since 2016’s *Deus Ex: Mankind Divided*, the sci-fi action RPG series is seemingly poised for a comeback.
According to a January 2024 report, the Canadian studio has been actively discussing a new *Deus Ex* title with external publishers. However, no commitments have been made due to concerns over the franchise’s niche status and hesitations from potential partners. The new concept for the game is described as having “charm and novelty,” aiming to offer a fresh take on the series while differing from expectations.
*Deus Ex* has been a highly praised franchise since its 2000 debut, with the last major installment, *Mankind Divided*, receiving critical and commercial success. Despite efforts to revive the series, previous attempts have been canceled, including a project scrapped by Embracer Group as part of a cost-cutting move.
