Nintendo Switch 2 Adds CRT Filter for GameCube Games

The Nintendo Switch 2 is bringing a nostalgic feature for retro gaming enthusiasts: an optional CRT filter for GameCube titles. This feature allows players to experience classic games with a visual style reminiscent of early 2000s displays, offering a unique trip down memory lane.

Announced during the April 2 Nintendo Direct, the CRT filter gives GameCube games a more authentic look, emulating the appearance of cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors that were commonly used at the time. This option, available for games on Switch 2’s GameCube catalog, lets players enjoy the pixelated charm of older graphics on modern screens.

Ten GameCube titles, including *The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker*, *F-Zero GX*, and *Soulcalibur 2*, will be available when the Switch 2 launches on June 5. Other confirmed classics, such as *Super Mario Sunshine*, *Pokemon Colosseum*, *Luigi’s Mansion*, and *Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance*, will also be included. The CRT filter feature is a fun addition for gamers looking to relive the past with a more authentic gaming experience.
