Elden Ring to Receive New Content in 2025
Elden Ring fans have exciting news: the game will be getting fresh content in 2025. Despite the release of its expansion *Shadow of the Erdtree* in 2024, which earned widespread acclaim, FromSoftware has confirmed that new updates are coming, including additional armor, weapons, and customization options for the fan-favorite mount, Torrent.
This new content will be part of *Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition*, which was revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct. The *Tarnished Edition* will launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 later in 2025, bundling the base game and *Shadow of the Erdtree* along with the new armor, weapons, and Torrent customizations.
Though *Elden Ring Nightreign*—a co-op, roguelite version of the game—has not been announced for the Switch 2, fans can still look forward to the original *Elden Ring* and its new updates as part of the *Tarnished Edition*. More details are expected in the coming months.
