Overwatch 2 March 2025 Update Brings Major Balance Changes and Hero Adjustments
Blizzard has rolled out a significant update for *Overwatch 2* in March 2025, introducing major balance changes and adjustments to several heroes. This update, released on March 25, follows the mid-season update from March 18, which brought the second LE SSERAFIM collaboration, new skins, and in-game challenges.
The latest patch includes important changes to 11 heroes across 5v5 and 6v6 modes. Mauga, one of the standout tanks, received notable nerfs, with reductions to his *Cardiac Overdrive*, *Cage Fight* Ultimate, and *Berserker Passive* abilities. Meanwhile, Roadhog’s healing was increased and his Ultimate cost was reduced, making him more reliable for players. Winston also saw his Ultimate cost increased, similar to Mauga’s changes.
In the damage category, Cassidy, Echo, Sojourn, and Widowmaker received adjustments. Cassidy’s *Peacekeeper* was buffed with improved range and damage, while Echo’s health was reworked, reducing her base health but adding shield health. Sojourn’s *Power Slide* ability was slightly nerfed, while Widowmaker got a slight buff with increased base health.
Support heroes also saw changes, with Ana’s *Biotic Grenade* cooldown increased, and Juno’s *Orbital Ray* Ultimate cost getting a slight increase.
These changes are expected to shake up the *Overwatch 2* meta, with players now able to experience a more balanced gameplay environment. Looking ahead, fans can also look forward to the introduction of a new hero, Freja, in *Season 16*. Freja teasers are already visible in some of the game’s maps during Season 15.
The March 25 update marks another step in Blizzard’s ongoing effort to refine the game and keep the *Overwatch 2* experience fresh for its players.
