Potential New World of Warcraft Player Housing Info Datamined in Cataclysm Classic

A recent datamine of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic has revealed potential details about the long-awaited player housing system. The discovery, found in the Public Test Realm for the Hour of Twilight update, includes a file called PlayerHousingConstantsDocumentation.lua, which contains hints at customization options for player homes.

The file suggests players will have the ability to customize both interior and exterior spaces, including floors, walls, ceilings, and even stairs and pillars. Homes will reportedly come in small, medium, and large sizes, with various decorative options available, such as tabletop items and themed decorations.

What’s surprising is that this file was found in the Cataclysm Classic PTR rather than in modern World of Warcraft, raising questions about whether Blizzard may have hidden the file or accidentally left it there. While the information could be outdated, obsolete, or a red herring, it offers an exciting glimpse into what could be coming for player housing in the Midnight expansion.

Blizzard officially confirmed player housing in November 2024, though details remain scarce. Fans can expect a reveal of the Midnight expansion in mid-2025, with player housing possibly arriving later that year.
