IGI 2: Covert Strike Computer game genre first-person shooter that was developed in collaboration with Innerloop Studios and published by Codemasters in 2003. This sequel is the original game Project IGI: I’m Going In. The original version of the game, released through Eidos Interactive, had only a single-player mode. The game IGI-2 Covert Strike offers both multiplayer and single-player modes.
The consultant game was Chris Ryan, a former member of the Special Air Service, best recognized for his operation Bravo Two Zero. It was in China, that IGI-2: Covert Strike was taken down because Chinese authorities claimed that she intentionally denigrated the appearance of China as well as China and the Chinese army.
The central character in this game is David Jones, an agent employed by the Institute for Intelligence and Geotactical an operator from the British Special Air Service. The mission is to send him into the Carpathian Mountains to find the set of EMP chips taken from a US advanced manufacturing plant to be used by the Russian mafia.
Following the mission including HALO, the infiltration of a weather station located in the mountains, and the downloading of some from the EMP chips, the mission Director for Jones, Phillip White, appears to give him the order to retrieve the remainder of the chips. Jones is taken to the plant across the Dniester and recovers about half the chips. After that, he destroys the bridge nearby to deter the advance of the enemy.
