The whole GTA V source code leaks on the web
A few days after the hacker who gained access to sensitive information on Grand Theft Auto 6 was finally convicted, Rockstar had to confront another hacker since it had been revealed that the GTA V source code had come out on the internet.
Indeed, the GTA V source code isn’t part of a fresh trend of cybercrime targeting Rockstar Games. The source code was stolen in the 2022 attack on the business. To the point of disclosure, it was secretly shared through privately owned Discord servers and other messaging applications.
The leaked code contains the entire game’s source code and a glimpse at the other notable aspects of GTA V, like a glimpse of what the initial San Andras map would look like. The leak even includes a tiny Python script to play Grand Theft Auto 6.
However, it’s been reported that leaks have revealed confidential information about Rockstar employees, such as emails from more than 1,000 employees.
This last November, a handful of documents from the massive Rockstar database hack surfaced on the web. It confirmed that the Rockstar developers were making progress on GTA V Story DLC content that could have been cancelled entirely or included in GTA Online because of the game’s massive success.
This leak, however, sheds further details about what kind of DLC could have been downloaded in this game. The files include eight potentially cancelled DLC items that stand out, including Agent Trevor and Liberty City, with the latter indicating that the players might have taken a trip to North America and then returned to GTA IV’s version place.
The holiday season is in full swing, and the holiday season continues. How Rockstar Games will react to the leaks that have recently surfaced remains to be seen. Unfortunately, developers are more adept at dealing with such incidents, as evidenced by the recent saga on Insomniac Games and the release of a variety of information on upcoming projects being shared online, as well as Spider-Man 3 and the Wolverine title and Spider-Man 3.
