ASC is a match for Ghost of Tsushima in a stunning open-world RPG
Who wouldn’t want to play the open world RPG? Who doesn’t enjoy an open-world RPG that was inspired from Assassin’s Creed and Ghost of Tsushima? Exactly, nobody! There is a game to play.
It was launched at TGS 2023. Where Winds Meet is a novel martial arts action game which has been compared with Assassin’s Creed and Ghost of Tsushima. The game was created by Chinese production company, Everstone Games, the story takes place at the time of Ancient China and tells the tale of a swordsman that faces difficult choices in order to fulfill his fate.
IGN invited us to play an 18-minute demo for the game Where Winds Meetback in September. We could get an early glimpse of customization of characters, the various environments we’ll be in, and most importantly, the most epic boss battles.
The character we choose to play with is created during the “time of chaos” and the game’s developers tell us that players can “choose to be a doctor saving lives in the chaotic world, or a merchant accumulating wealth”. Right from the start the choices we make will determine the narrative in a world filled with mythical creatures and magic.
Combat appears to comprise of normal swordplay and the capability to use magic, and also use sneaky tactics in harder regions. The swordsman of our time is able to traverse over the hills to hide and make the world gorgeous as captivating as games like Ghost of Tsushimaand Wo Long.
There isn’t much information about the plot apart from the fact that it will be set within a world inspired by fantasy Ancient China and it will be influenced by the game Assassin’s creedby which will feature real events from the past interspersed with the fantastical.
It is not clear what date the release date for Where Winds Meet is due to be released, but we believe it could be between the end of 2023 and 2024. The game has been confirmed on PC but we think it will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will release within a short time.
