GTA Six fans are already complaining about the game being too “woke’
This month, Rockstar Games finally graced us with their first official trailer of GTA V and, surprisingly enough, it caused a ruckus on the web.
The Grand Theft Auto VI trailer debuted in the first week of release, everyone were aware that it was going to beat records. In the first few hours, it has not did it smash a previously held record set by the YouTube channel MrBeast however, at the moment of writing the trailer that is on the Rockstar Games channel has over Rockstar Games channel boasts more than 10 million views, and more than 9.3 million likes, and over 266k dislikes, along with more than 750k comment.
In our day and age”woke” is a word that “woke” could have a variety of definitions based on the person you talk to. At this point there’s a good chance that it’s lost its of its original meaning. In any case it is, at the very least as per Merriam-Webster.com The term slang for woke could refer to having been “aware of and alert to the most important social facts and concerns (especially questions of racial or socio-economic justice).”
Every aspect of modern life is prone to having the term “woke” used to describe it, regardless of whether the reasoning is valid or not. GTA VI is just the latest to get a smack from the opposition to waking. When I first began to write this post I understood why people would accuse the latest release by Rockstar Games of being “woke”. Really, I don’t like the word “woke” and it makes my eyes swell.

The web is a swarm of homophobic, racist, and transphobic remarks. It appears that the latest Grand Theft Auto VI trailer is causing trouble for the millions. Unfortunately, the majority of us won’t be shocked by this. However that if “woke” refers to reflective of the society we live in whether it is good or bad, and the GTA series frequently being reflective of satirical culture maybe Grand Theft Auto has always been awake.
GTA VI is expected to release in 2025, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XS. The time of this writing Rockstar Games has not announced GTA VI for PC However, I’m confident GTA VI will arrive for the console in the near future.
