Xbox users are in a panic because Microsoft is planning to end the popular game
Xbox has announced that it will shut its Xbox Rewards App, but don’t be concerned as it’s due to an excellent reason.
Being a frequent Xbox user of my own I’ve accrued lots of Xbox Rewards points in these past years. A lot of them can easily be earned through participating in certain games or challenging tasks.
If you’re testing an exciting new Xbox Game Pass game, achieving an accomplishment or taking advantage of new discounts, Microsoft is extremely accommodating when it comes to providing its users with points. They can be used to purchase items using an Xbox Rewards app, where users can win nice prizes, such as gift cards to purchase the most recent games or DLC.
But, it appears Xbox is now removing the Xbox Rewards application in favour of a more seamless platform.
It’s been reported that an Xbox user in Brazil saw a notification saying the application would cease to exist by the end of November. The rewards can be accessed via a “Rewards Hub” found on the Xbox console.
The complete message was reported to read: “We’ve recreated, simplified and fully made the Rewards experience more accessible on Xbox … Thanks to the launch of our new Rewards hub on Xbox users do not require additional applications to earn or redeem Rewards points for Xbox. In December 2023 it will be no longer possible to offer offers through the Microsoft Rewards application for Xbox as we will be focusing on exciting new features that are available in the Rewards Hub.”
The site further stated that this change was made in order to “simplify and streamline the Rewards experience for players,” while also providing them with information about current offers and special events simultaneously.
In the end, the game is an absolute winner since a faster process to redeem and claim points makes it faster than before to get delicious rewards from your time playing on the console.
Sad day for those who loved Xbox Rewards. Xbox Rewards app though, the app will be lost.
