Pokemon will be around for “hundreds of many years’ says executives
Pokemon is among the most loved ever-running franchises regardless of whether it’s the animated television series as a movie, video game or a card game plushies, and all the rest in between.

“It’s a very unique structure and we need to operate as a business and we need to make money of course, but it allows us to really take the long-term view on things and think about everything that we do, how can we keep Pokemon alive for hundreds of years, passing it on to the next generation and making sure that it’s survives well past our lifetimes,” said Utsunomiya.
In addition, talking to the Guardian, Takato Utsunomiya reiterated his wish to see the Pokemon franchise to endure past a century, and in which case the series will continue to remain “the core of the brand” to come in the near coming years. Utsunomiya explained that the description of the Pokedex may not have accurately reflected the Pokemon on the screen, however that is beginning to change in newer games in the series, and plans are in place for this aspect to change in the future.
“In the original games, there’s quite a gap between the descriptions in the Pokedex and what you actually saw in the game,” Utsunomiya stated. “But beginning with Legends Arceus, and Scarlet and Violet there’s a glimpse of Pokemon-like Bidoof building dens within the game. You also can find Pokemon moving with packs. This creates a more realistic view of the setting. In terms of giving the same descriptions as the first Pokedex … There’s lots more that we can accomplish.”
