Metal Gear Solid 4 remaster revealed, and will be playable on any platform other than PS3
With Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 available across the globe, lovers of the cult stealth video game are paying attention to the development of the series in the future. The good news is that newly found evidence indicates the possibility of a Master Gear Solid 4remaster could be on the horizon.
This week we were able to welcome the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The remake modernizes the 1998 game from Konami Metal Gear alongside its sequel Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and it seems similar treatment might be offered to the subsequent installments within the series.
According to a Reddit user, there is a reference to an updated version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker as well as Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain in the launcher on the PC for Metal Gear Solid 2’s collection. Metal Gear Solid 2.
“While digging through the scripts for Metal Gear Solid 2 Master Collection Launcher (it’s in Unity, easily decompilable with something like dnSpy), I discovered multiple strings related to Peace Walker, 4 and 5” The post included. “There’s a function that can help you find the correct path to access the assets. There are lists for each of the games in the Volume 1 games, but they also have 4, 5, as well as Peace Walker, suggesting that they could be included in the previously-rumoured Vol 2.”
It is possible that the compilation being named “Volume 1” would be a hint of future volumes but that has not yet been established by Konami. But, it is an intriguing rumour since it is the first occasion that Metal Gear Solid 4 will be released from PlayStation 3.
In the meantime, those who love Metal Gear Solid are able to take a dive into Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 to experience the same gameplay by playing the original action-stealth games. It is our hope that we can keep doing the same thing for the rest of Konami’s series in the near future.
