The Pokemon Company threatens more Detective Pikachu games to come in the future
The most loved electric mouse of all time has returned to our screens with Detective Pikachu Returns an uninspiring sequel to an unplayed 3DS title. If we want to, it’s unlikely to be the last glimpse we’ll get of wearing a hat Pokemon.
In an interview with Japanese gaming site Famitsu in a video interview with VGC, Creatures Inc. managing director Hiroyuki Jinnai announced that additional Pokemon Detective Pikachu games may be on the way in the near in the near future. Although it took nearly five years to bring the series the most recent instalment to come out, new titles might be developed.
“This [new game] concludes the story of Jinnai Tim, Pikachu, and Harry,” Jinnai stated. “However, all the staff also love the talking old man Pikachu, so maybe there will be a different development from the main story?”
But the possibility of other Pokemon Detective Pikachu games rests on the merits of its most recent entry: Detective Pikachu Returns. “I can’t make any promises at this point,” gently added Pokemon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara. “But if Detective Pikachu Returns is well received and there is a great demand for it, there is room for a spin-off.”

Following the huge success of the movie Detective Pikachu the fans hoped that this sequel could be an excellent sequel. In the other direction, it is possible that a movie will make it possible to change the story of the game into something positive!
