Modern Warfare 3 players clamour for the missing MW2 DLC maps
Modern Warfare 3 players are looking forward to Sledgehammer Games’ plans on adding the DLC maps of 2009.’s Modern Warfare 2 once the new Call of Duty title releases.
The 2023 edition of Modern Warfare 3 commemorates the 20th anniversary of this Call of Duty franchise, sitting on top of the mountain of first-person shooters in celebration of the milestone. The developers have restored 16 of the launch maps of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, much to the delight of players who want to stroll through the past.
Many are satisfied with the idea of loading in Highrise and Rust, yet again, some are requesting Sledgehammer Games to extend the festivities. Alongside the map that was released in the first MW2, some want DLC maps in the same game to come out with the 2023 title.
After the two weekends of beta testing, Reddit user Alman11 wonders whether there is a plan to include the maps in separate map packs in future content planning plans post-launch.
The player writes: “I really enjoyed the DLC maps from MW2 2009. It would be nice to see some of these come back since we are already getting the full MW2 2009 map lineup.”
Some are even in agreement. A few players want less-known Modern Warfare 2 maps of the DLC released in 2009 instead of the famous battlefields featured in famous games like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
One player believes: “I say give us at least the non-CoD4 remakes: Bailout, Storm, Carnival, Fuel. Had all the great map design of that era they can’t seem to replicate with new maps these days.”
It is not known much regarding the content plan post-launch in Modern Warfare 3. However, Sledgehammer Games has already revealed the game will feature 12 brand-new maps to be released throughout the game’s run. The list doesn’t contain any possible Remasters. This opens the doors to allow the entire Modern Warfare 2 DLC to be released to this iconic Call of Duty franchise.
Modern Warfare 3 has the opportunity to build maps that include traditional battlegrounds as well as new ones. The MW2 DLC would be the best option to take.
