Marvel’s Avengers was officially shut down forever
The Avengers have been defeated, but it was not Thanos or Kang who defeated Earth’s strongest heroes. It was live-service gaming.
Marvel’s Avengers has had an uphill battle, but the show has finally gone to the end of the road as it has been deleted from every digital storefront.
The game is still playable. This means even if you own an existing copy, you can play it solo or online with a group of friends; however, development on the game’s story has come to a standstill as of now, with no hope of picking it back. That means that any glitches, bugs or problems with performance currently present on the game’s servers will remain in the game, and there will be no new DLCs, and there’ll be no more online activities, so the game has been completely gone.
It’s a shame that you cannot say it was a success since it was planned even before its launch to be a live service game that would continuously bring new games, content, and playable characters—Challenges to complete.
It was an enjoyable single-player game. However, the DLC was critiqued for essentially being the same. The Spider-Man DLC received the most snarky criticism because it was a PlayStation Exclusive, and was not very pleasant compared to Spider-Man from Marvel. Spider-Man.
The game did not receive the Cyberpunk 2077 or No Man’s Sky redemption story, its reviewers are very discordant online. Support after launch was not enough to keep the game going.
The fans were hopeful for a sequel which would take the lessons learned from the initial game and correct some of the significant live-service shortcomings. However, there’s a good chance that it won’t be released however, a reboot by an entirely different studio is likely.
Marvel’s Avengers is no longer accessible through digital stores; however, if you’ve purchased it for Xbox, PlayStation or PC platforms, then you’ll be able to play it.
