Lord of the Rings Fans are demanding Battle For Middle-Earth remakes
The Lord of the Rings series has produced some amazing games, but The Lord of the Rings Gollum that was just released is not among them.
Gollum was finally released yesterday on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Series X/S, after many delays. The reviews were abysmally low. The PS5 version received a score of 40 from Metacritic at the time this article was written. This makes it the worst-rated game so far in the year. Yikes.
The whole thing has left fans feeling nostalgic about the Battle for Middle-earth games. These two RTS games, which were released in 2006 and 2004, respectively, are still popular, but the servers have been shut down since 2010. They’re now also very old, and their popularity is due to the fact that they came out so long ago. All these reasons are why gamers now beg for remakes of’s original and sequel.
If they’re looking to make money with the Lord of the Rings series, remaster the game. We get Gollum instead,” Reddit’s Zjoee wrote, alongside an image from Battle for Middle-earth II.
The real deal! This game is awesome. “The first game was also really good,” replied ThraxedOut. “True! said only Penguin, “Something about the LOTR game generation really made you feel like you were in Middle-Earth.” This is my childhood. said Circumflexboy, “This is why I fell in love with strategy games.”
It’s almost certain that whatever Lord of the Rings game we have next will be superior to Gollum. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they will be great.
