Sony acknowledges that sales of The Last Of Us Part 1 are extremely low

While 360,000 copies sold a month following release are not insignificant, they’re alarmingly low, particularly for a franchise with such a prestigious reputation as The Last Of Us. It’s even more surprising when you consider the huge success of HBO Max, the fastest-growing streaming series. Even though the PC version has been infamous for its poor performance, many other issues, such as lags or crashes are still surprising.
It’s not clear why there were issues with the port, but it is likely that they were rushed to the platform, hoping that the TV show would increase sales. This worked in theory but did little for the overall success of the project.
PC mishap caused by The Last of Us didn’t stop PlayStation from releasing more PC versions. However, there are no plans for them to be released simultaneously on PS5; instead, they will release in staggered releases.
