The Assassin’s Creed Mirage trailer is absolutely stunning
Although I made many predictions for tonight’s PlayStation Showcase, I didn’t expect to see our first glimpse of Assassin’s Creed Mirage with the Ubisoft forward just around the bend. But, hey, we’re here. The gameplay is fantastic.
Ubisoft announced earlier this year that they would return to releasing Assassin’s creed on an annual basis, after a tough financial year. Three unannounced were also quietly cancelled. We already know that Codename Red will be released in the near future, along with Codename Hexe and Codename Jade. We’ve heard for months that this game would use Unity parkour and go back to the series’ roots. This new trailer seems to confirm that.
We now have an official release date. Not only do we finally get to see the slick gameplay in action, but we’ve also got our first look at it. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released on the 12th of October. Let’s start the countdown. The trailer shows Basim maneuvering effortlessly across rooftops, catching his enemies by surprise. This is the stealthy parkour gameplay that we’ve heard about.
It’s also worth taking a minute to admire the graphics. I have always found Assassin’s creed to be a series full of detailed words, which is a joy to explore. (Yes, this includes Odyssey), so it’s great to see that the same applies to Mirage.
Mirage is described as a game about a young man coming of age. We will learn the story behind Basim, a street-thief who joined the Hidden Ones under Roshan’s tutelage.
