Dark Souls looks stunning in Unreal Engine 5
Even though it’s been almost 12 years since the release of Dark Souls, this game is still a great one to play.
The first Soulsborne game from FromSoftware was remastered on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch last year. However, the graphics still seem dated compared with Elden Ring.
One talented fan showed us what Unreal Engine remake of Dark Souls could look like. We need this to happen now. SilasCG, a YouTube developer, released a video showcasing a shiny, boosted version of Dark Souls Anor Londo. Fans were blown away.
The creator of the video wrote: “I made this video to show how […] Unreal Engine 5 assets in Dark Souls Anor Londo would look with high-quality lighting.” I added some elements but the majority are still Dark Souls 1. assets.
Soulsborne’s fans are gushing about the game: “Amazing” is a gross understatement. Quentin Becker said, “This is amazing.” This looks amazing! It makes me want to see how it would look after Gwynevere is dead. “Imagine the moonlight filtering into the windows,” wrote Mostenire. “Amazing! Paulorockz added, “Come on FromSoftware! You can do it!”
This isn’t playable at this time, but hopefully FromSoftware will take inspiration in the future. It’s important to have something that will tide us over until the Elden Ring downloadable content.
