What will a Nintendo Wii be worth in 2023
The popularity of old video game consoles is cyclical. It’s not surprising that the Nintendo Wii has become increasingly popular among retro gamers.
The Nintendo Wii is also gaining popularity among retro gamers who want to relive their memories of classic games like Super Mario Galaxy or The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. What can you expect the price of a Nintendo Wii in 2023, including some games?
This question has several aspects that we need to take into consideration. While the vintage and retro video games market is incredibly expensive, Nintendo Wii consoles, its top titles, as well as many of its best-selling games are still relatively affordable.
As with all old systems, the Nintendo Wii price is subject to change.
Wii console prices
We have already stated that the basic Wii Console prices aren’t too different from what you paid for it when released in 2006. It’s possible that this is due to Nintendo’s consoles being so durable. The system was only 20 years old and became the 6th bestselling system of all time.
A Wii base system can cost anywhere from 25 to $150 USD in the US or 20 to 120 PS in the UK, depending on the accessories. A refurbished system may cost more. It could be up to $150, or PS120. All of these prices are lower than what the console cost at launch. The price only starts to rise when you’re looking at a Nintendo Wii that is sealed. They usually sell for 250 or PS200.
Wii Collectors should be aware that the console comes in a variety of colors and editions. Soon we’ll cover those, but right now, there are only three models: the RVL-001 and RVL-101.
There are some differences between the 001 and 101, though they’re similar. For example, the 101 cannot run GameCube. The GameCube memory card and controller sockets have been removed. This system is designed to be positioned horizontally rather than vertically. We could not find a big price difference. We’ll discuss the Wii Mini in just a minute.
Special Wii Console Price Guide
Wii Mini was released seven years after the original console release. The RVL-101 systems, which are smaller versions of the RVL-101s, do not have GameCube functionality. The Wii Mini also lacks an online connection.
It was still a good option at that time, and it is now. Used Wii Minis are available for as little as 25 or PS30 but most often they cost 50-80 or even PS40-100. Prices for bundles are higher, but if you want an unopened Wii Mini you could pay hundreds of dollars.
Prices for a Red Mario Anniversary Nintendo Wii hover at 60+ or around PS25+. The price of boxed versions can be higher depending on the condition. The sealed red Nintendo Wii is worth at least several hundred pounds or dollars. Blue Nintendo Wii is the second most popular color variation, with prices beginning at 50+ or PS40+.
It is notoriously hard to locate limited edition Wii bundles, particularly sealed. You could spend hundreds of dollars for a sealed Wii Sports package, the Mario & Sonic bundle at the London 2012 Olympic Games, or that nonsense about The Beatles.
What are Wii controllers worth?
Prices for a Wii Controller Set start around 10 or PS10. Seal and boxed Wii controllers sell at 15+ or PS15+. The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword controller, for example, can sell at least 30+ or PS20.
Third-party controllers are available, but their price is usually the same as, or even more than, an original Nintendo item. It’s better to stick with the original Nintendo controller.
