Fans of Assassin’s creed Black Flag are baffled when they discover the setting that turns off sea shanties
There’s no Assassin’s Creed that I have enjoyed as much as Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. The Jackdaw is a beautiful ship that sails the West Indies. It’s a great game for hunting and pillaging sea creatures.
The majority of gamers agree with me. They love the soundtrack that goes along with all your pirate adventures in the game. Many were shocked and even a bit dismayed to discover that the settings of the game allowed you to disable the wonderful tunes.
In a Reddit post entitled “What kind of scumbag would take the shanties out? !”
JackdawsShantyMan is right to be horrified. The shanties form a key part of Ubisoft’s first pirate adventure, and it would not make sense to remove them. It is true that sometimes the sound of the waves and splashing can be pleasant, but the shanties cannot be replaced.
In all seriousness, the cacophony created by drunken crew members singing during a 25-hour game is not for everyone. Some commenters claimed they turned off the option because they didn’t enjoy the songs or got tired of them after playing for hours. This is understandable. Some people made the point that YouTubers and streamers could also use this setting to prevent copyright claims, but I am not certain who would be claiming Drunken Sailor by 2023.
The most amazing part is that fans still play Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag and the sequel. Even those who have moved onto the newer AC games remember it fondly, sea shanties included.
