Silent Service II, a submarine simulation game, was published by MicroProse in 1990 for the PC DOS and 1991 for the Amiga. The career mode allows the player to conduct a series of patrols in the submarine and meet other ships or convoys during unscripted encounters.
You can choose a home port or a patrol area from a map of Pacific Ocean. Time acceleration allows the submarine to quickly move to the area. Although the time required to complete a war career is limited by fuel availability, a typical patrol can last several hours.
