Half-Life 2 VR Mod is a fan-made mod that adds Virtual Reality support to the 2004 PC gaming classic from Valve Software. Take the role of Gordon Freeman and grab your crowbar to immerse yourself into Half-Life 2’s world. Throw objects, grab and throw them with your hands and climb ladders to play with Dog. Take on the Combine while manually reloading your guns.
Even if you had the gravity gun, would you dare to go to Ravenholm? Tracked motion controls and full room-scale VR. Virtual Reality allows you to walk, grab objects and climb ladders physically. You can naturally interact with your weapon. There are radial menus that allow you to switch between weapons quickly and easily, as well as ammo storage above your shoulders, functional iron sights and two-handed weapons. You have the option of full left-handed support, laser sight and arcade-style “quick load.”

Comfort features include a motion vignette, a 3rd-person vehicle camera, and a motion vignette. Note: There is currently no option to teleport. You can play this mod on any VR headset compatible with SteamVR. This mod kicks your ass. This mod is a fresh, new way to enjoy Half-Life 2. There is nothing to dislike. However, VR is not recommended for people who have motion sickness or experience smooth locomotion.
Teleport locomotion has been a topic of many questions, and I am sure more will be. Half-Life 2 is essentially an action shooter, so this is not possible. You can play this mod as a cover shooter during combat. The mod team did a fantastic job making sure the combat was balanced. However, moving around large open areas and using vehicles requires smooth movement at the same speed as HL2. This is a standard for VR ports of desktop games, so I don’t have any criticism.
