These “Rune Packs” signify creativity lacking and trying to give players an “edge.” I’ve tested many rune combinations and concluded that it doesn’t matter which runes you choose because most runes in the packs can be found in the vanilla SoM.
The “Warband” DLCs are now available. They offer little in the way of excitement and take up no more than 2 minutes of gameplay. Captains killed in “confrontations,” while not particularly interesting, have a low-rank enemy, as well as a lot of weaknesses. A combat master orc and immunity to stealth and ranged damage takes me about 4 minutes. Warband orcs are “preset” and last for about 10 seconds. You have to hit them a few times, and they’re dead. It’s not challenging, it’s very dull, and it’s almost unremarkable. The Devs should have given you a trophy to celebrate your victory.

Trials of War: This is basically what free-roam single players are, except that you can see your stats. The leaderboards won’t matter much if you’re competing for a high-valued prize. You don’t get a penny for running, so runes are not considered rewards. You might be interested in a chance at a “skin” if you are competing. In the “Trials of War,” captains and war chiefs feel like they are preset. These Trials offer little in the way of enticing and accomplishing what few can do by free-roaming.
Rune Packs: This should not be a thing. At the CURRENT MOMENT, I wouldn’t recommend this. The DLCs will improve, and I hope they do. I would not recommend this at the CURRENT MOMENT. It’s small enough, which is fine. However, the fact that you can’t walk 10 feet without encountering five enemies makes it very tedious. The fact that everything is grey and rocky also hinders immersion. Indeed, war is everywhere, and the land is suitable in the middle of it all. However, it could have been easier for the eyes.
