Sonic Team Boss: “Sonic Adventure 3” May Never Happen
We’ve seen some Sonic Frontiers footage now and the reaction has been mixed to say the least. The open-zone format is a new concept for the series. The trailers certainly seem to be trying to convey some Breath Sonic vibes. It’s strange.
Frontiers is a controversial topic. However, Sonic Adventure is a classic. It’s still a landmark release, and even though there wasn’t a third Adventure game in 2001, it’s clear that many fans would love to see one. It’s not a possibility, but IGN interviewed Takashi Iizuka about it in a recent interview.
According to VGC Iizuka said that there is no plan to make Sonic Adventure 3. “IGN asked very directly whether Sonic Adventure 3 was possible, so I was answering the question,” he explained to VGC. Although people might want to believe it, I’m not saying that Sonic Adventure 3 is being made.
He said, “I just wanted to reiterate that the whole team is focused Sonic Frontiers” and that they truly want it to be the best possible game. “In the future Sonic Adventure 3 may be an idea that would be interesting to explore at some point, but it’s not part the plan and that’s what I’m not doing. It’s all about Frontiers right now. We don’t have any plans for Sonic Adventure 3. at the moment. “I just wanted to make it clear with everyone!”
That’s it. Iizuka said that even though there aren’t any plans, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want it to happen in the future.
Let’s hope so. I have no other need in my life than to return to the Chao Garden.
